We've been lambing for two weeks now and the lamb count is at 75. That brings us about halfway to the total number of lambs we're expecting.

The Numbers

  • 80 ewes were bred, and they produce an average of 1.7 lambs.

  • The vast majority of veteran ewes have 2 lambs per season, but ewes who are in their first breeding season most often carry 1 lamb, so that changes the flock's overall average a by a hair.

  • We've had 3 ewes deliver triplets thus far.

  • Rams lambs are currently in the lead at 40, with ewe lambs totaling 35

  • There 3 bottle babies right now getting bottles between 8:00 am and 12:00 am. Before too long, their stomachs will grow, and they'll be able to take fewer bottles per day, at a higher volume.

Back to the field!
